5 of 10 Priciest O.C. Home Listings Located in Newport Beach
Continuing its run as one of the most stable real estate markets in Orange County, Newport Beach dominated the list of ten most expensive home listings in the county in a list provided by Redfin, a real estate brokerage firm.Five of the ten homes in the list were located in Newport Beach and its constituent communities, most notably Corona del Mar and Newport Coast. The list tracked official Orange County home listings up to October 31st, 2009, Redfin's most recent data.
Topping the list was 401 Avocado Drive in Corona del Mar, a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath property priced at a cool $38 million. It is also the newest listing on the countdown, having entered the market on September 29th.
A 12,000-square foot property on 18 Harbor Isle came in second, with a price tag of $32.6 million. Listed on May 14th of this year, the home has 12 bedrooms and 12 baths, and comes down to over $2,700 per square foot.
Newport Beach also took the fifth and sixth spots, with 21 Hermitage priced at $27.5 million and 9 Pelicans in Newport Coast at $24.99 million. The former is also the largest property on the list, with over 15,500 square feet of living space.
An oceanfront property on 3725 Ocean Drive, Corona del Mar came in tenth, listed on April 7th and currently valued at $21 million. The home has two bedrooms and two baths, small compared to others on the list but compensating with intimate ocean views.
The rest of the list includes homes from San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Beach. Newport Beach, while similarly affected by the recession, has remained one of O.C.'s strongest markets as other luxury home markets slowed down in terms of market time.
