Newport Beach Homes Make Most-Viewed List

Newport Beach joins Laguna Beach and Irvine this week as the cities with the most coveted properties for sale, with two of its homes making Realtor.com's top ten list in Orange County. This is proof that despite the housing crash, Newport Beach homes remain among the most valued in the country and have kept their long-standing prestige.

The more popular of the two homes is on Savanna Lane, just off Irvine Avenue. The 3-bedroom, 2.25-bath property is seventh on the list and is currently going for $555,000. Listed on January 7th, it is small for a neighborhood at only about 1,600 square feet, but includes a two-car garage, a fireplace, and hardwood floors.

Ninth on the list is another Newport Beach home, located on Azure Avenue in the Back Bay. Listed less than a month ago for $650,000, it includes four bedrooms and two baths—a total of 2,000 square feet of floor space on an 8,100-square foot lot. The Back Bay area has been picking up interest lately, which may explain the home's popularity.

Both homes, as well as the rest of the homes on the list, cost less than $1 million. This affirms experts' assumption that today’s buyers are more interested in cheaper homes, even in high-end areas such as Newport Beach. The most expensive home on the list, located in Irvine, is going for only $739,000, and is ranked second.

Other high-scoring areas include Irvine and Laguna Beach, both of which have two homes on the list. Irvine also has the most viewed home on the list, a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath property going for $559,000. Laguna Beach, on the other hand, holds the third and fifth rankers which are listed at $549,900 and $547,000 respectively.
